Wedding Tiaras

Wedding Tiaras are a more traditional choice and suit a princess wedding dress style. A tiara is worn at the top of the head, with the veil positioned behind it. A tiara looks beautiful worn with a fuller veil, as it frames the face and creates a beautiful princess look.

Bridal Headbands

Bridal Headbands are more of a modern look and is worn across the top of the head, and quite often have a side design feature, rather than a centred design. Bridal headbands can be worn with most veils, and work particularly well with veils that have less volume.

A headpiece is the finishing touch to bring together the style of your wedding gown, veil and hair do, it will complete your bridal look. There are many accessories which can be used in the hair like the tiaras, headbands, hair pieces, side combs and flowers.

It is nice to follow the same theme on to your headpiece as the one you have chosen on your dress and veil, so any detail of crystal beading, pearls and lace are a nice addition to bring the whole look together.

If your dress has asymmetrical design features, such as a one shoulder strap, then a side comb worn on the opposite side of the head balances the look. Side combs can be worn with up or down hairstyles and work well with all veils.

The most important thing to consider when choosing a hair style is that it complements the style of your wedding dress and all of its features. The veil also needs to flow well with the style of your hair do ensuring the perfect look for your wedding day and pictures.

Some veils are designed to be worn high on the head and some underneath a hair do, so your hairstyle needs to accommodate this.

Whether you decide to wear your veil over your face is a matter of personal preference. It is customary to wear a veil over your face for the walk down the aisle, if you are getting married in a church. In this case, a veil with two tiers is necessary. If you are having a garden or beach wedding, then it is not necessary to wear a veil over your face. This is where the single tier veil is perfect; the advantage of this veil is that you can see all of the details on the dress and any back features. This creates a very relaxed soft flow.

If you are thinking of wearing your hair down, placing the veil higher on your head ensures that the hair style doesn't fall out. It is recommended to have a section of your hair up, so that the veil can be anchored on to it securing the veil firmly on your head.

If you want to achieve a sleek look then having your hair down and straight works perfectly creating an elegant sleek finish.

If you want to create a volume look, then having your hair curled works beautifully. The soft curls will create body to the hair whilst creating a soft flow.

If you are thinking of wearing your hair up then this style works well with the veil at the top or underneath the hair style. Wearing the veil on top will achieve more body and underneath will create a soft natural flow.

There are many options you can do with your hair when placing it into a hair style. Whether you are wanting it all taken back and a simple bun to the back, or having the half up half down style, or some soft curls around the front with a classic loose side bun. Having your hair taken up for your wedding day will ensure that your hair is perfect for the whole day.

Include any details of the features on your dress, veil or headpiece. For example, crystal beading, pearls or lace.

Pearl earrings- Are very popular and suit lace wedding gowns and they are ideal if you want a soft romantic look.

Sparkle earrings- Are great to wear if your dress has that extra crystal here or there to finish off the look.

Bracelet- To compliment your headpiece and earrings, a bracelet is a must. Again, choose elements that work well together to compliment your dress.

Necklace- Works perfect on the strapless wedding gowns creating a lovely centre feature point, but if the dress has a lot of detail or embellishment around the neckline it is best not to wear one as overcrowding any accessories may take away the features on your wedding gown.

The wedding dress fabric also needs to be considered when choosing the features on your veil. The following are the materials available:

  • The Silk and Satin wedding gowns compliment a veil perfectly with the delicacy of the same fabric to which is used on the wedding dress, creating a soft flow and incorporating both the wedding gown and veil in beautifully together.

  • The Chiffon wedding gowns work perfectly with the soft flowing veils and fine edging, as this fabric is so light and soft tying both of them in well together.

  • A wedding gown with any details of crystal beading, pearls or lace works beautifully if you include these features on the veil. Any detail on the gown will emphases by the same detail on a veil creating the extra finishing touch.

The most important things to consider when choosing your shoes are the style of shoe to go for and comfort. The day will be a long one so comfort is priority, whether you prefer the flat shoes, kitten heel or high heel.

However, keep in mind that once the shoes have been chosen the dress length is altered to the exact match, so this means that changing the shoes is not an option throughout the day.

Also, the pictures will look more flowing with the bride and bridesmaids on similar levels of height. Some can always wear flats if they are wearing long dresses or there is always the other option of going for different lengths of heel.
