As summer is now in full swing what better than to start thinking of all things 'wedding'! As many of you know preparations take time, and the ordering of most wedding dresses once you've had your fitting can take between 3-6 months depending on the season, designer and demand.

I always feel from my experience that the process of selecting the wedding dress, booking the venue, cake, flowers and other important requirements leading up to the date, can take much longer than you'd expect. For a stress free journey ordering you're dress between 9-12 months in advance is perfect!

The Gown

Therefore, on today's wedding blog we have selected this dress which is a full length mermaid/trumpet gown; Irvine Blue By Enzoani. It is perfect for those spring/summer weddings and is a very sexy but elegant style with its lace delicacy and tulle skirt creating this beautiful fairy tale finish.

The style

This dress is mermaid/trumpet which is personally one of my favourite styles due to its fit. It holds a wonderful shape for hourglass or pear shaped figures by sculpting the body from the chest to the hips. This style can vary in how dramatic the shape is, the skirt can either finish at the hips or more than often at the knees. The one we have selected finishes a little earlier which is referred to more as a trumpet style than a mermaid. This creates more flexibility as the skirt is more flared and not restricting, perfect for those who want to show off their shape but who wish to not have their movement restricted.

Highlights The mermaid style contours our body, highlighting all of our best features from top to bottom. The dress then flares out with the fairy tale look of tulle with a few tiers which provide it with a flow and adds volume to the style. This is a very sexy and romantic look that highlights the curves of a woman’s body.

Neckline

The bodice is fitted and is a strapless sweet heart neckline which appears just like the top of a romantic heart shape. The type of neckline is very versatile suiting most body shapes as it will shape the bust line area, accentuate the cleavage, and create a soft finish to the style of the gown.

Fabric

The two materials on this dress are corded lace and tulle. The lace is applied to the whole of the bodice which adds the delicacy to the gown and enhances the soft and elegant touches to the dress. The tulle is a semi- transparent panel which is present throughout the whole of the skirt and on part of the open back of the dress which features an illusion back along with the lace to complement the fabrics perfectly together. The flowing tulle layers and lace pieces are scattered throughout parts of the skirt and are finished off with pearl buttons along a centre back zipper.

The colours available are Ivory and White only.
