For our summer wedding blog our bridal consultant Kerry has selected one of her favourites from the latest 2017 styles. The dress that we will be talking about is 'Linette'. It offers elegance, looks sexy and it will definitely make heads turn as you are walking down the aisle.
So talking body shapes this type of gown is a full length mermaid suiting those ladies with hourglass figures. This style of dress will sculpt the body from the chest area to below the knee. The downside to this style is that it can be more restricting for easy movement in comparison to the free flowing styles such as the short, tea length, ball gown, fluted and straight wedding dresses.
However, there are two types of mermaid gowns, the structured and the more relaxed ones. This gown in particular offers a more relaxed style as it flutes below the knee the tulle fabric enables the movement of the dress to be more soft and flowing. The more structured mermaid gowns are usually because of the type of fabric that is used. The satin, organza and lace on their own are normally the most restricting ones for movement so having a combination of the two lace and tulle on this dress is perfect!
Our favourite features to wedding gowns are the delicate touches that we feel make a bridal gown so special. So moving onto the detail of this beautiful dress the neckline, is a deep sweetheart and bateau illusion neckline. Bateau means that it provides a wide neckline that runs horizontally, front and back, and almost to the shoulder points, and across to the collarbone which adds the sexy look to this gown.
The Illusion neckline means that it has a transparent panel that is attached to the bodice and extends from the bust to the collar, which is made up of tulle and provides modesty to the dress whilst still showing off the parts we love. It is ideal for those ladies who still like a little cover across the back area rather that it being completely exposed. It also provides security for the dress to ensure that it will fit firmly to your figure from the start of your wedding day to the finish. It is finished off perfectly with a crystal button closure that ensures all eyes will be on you. This wedding gown will be picture perfect for your wedding album and photos.
A sweetheart neckline is one of the most versatile ones to go for as it will suit all shapes. If you are small chested it will provide curves for you, and if you are the lucky larger busted lady then it will enhance what you already have.
The dress also provides fullness that we love for that fairy tale feel. With its godet panels which is a triangular piece of material that has been inserted into a dress to make the flare.
The gown features decorative beaded embroidery on the lace and tulle which adds the sparkle every women loves on her wedding dress.
